Did you know that Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is different than Halloween? Dia de los Muertos is a Mexican holiday that began over 3000 years ago, to celebrate the lives of loved ones who have been lost. Most families who practice this tradition decorate and treat the deceased ones as guests of honor. Celebrations occur from Oct. 31-Nov 2nd. Emmie and I have loved learning about this!! We love learning about other cultures and their traditions. This one is absolutely a favorite!
This year, Walmart has put together a collection on their website for Dia de Los Muertos with beautiful and affordable items! I absolutely love all of the home decor items we got and if this is a holiday you celebrate, I highly recommend everything in this blog post. Taking these photos wasn’t easy. I had to climb into a rocky river, knowing I’m not as strong as I used to be and knowing that I could easily slip and fall at any moment.
On top of that, I was wearing a two piece swimsuit which is never actually as easy as it looks. To be honest, two piece swimsuits are usually more comfortable for me because finding a one piece that fits my torso right is near impossible. But I am always a little more self conscious.

No matter how big or how small my body has been, I have never ever EVER been comfortable with my stomach. About 4 years ago, I got into amazing shape before getting pregnant with Emaline and I got semi-comfortable tucking shirts in here and there, but I always had to have a layer to balance out my insecurities. I’m sure you’ve noticed, more and more women are starting to show their tummies off and I ain’t mad about it. I love it. But after having two kids and being 5 months postpartum, I am still definitely not at a place where I’m comfortable showing it off.
