Looking for pants and shorts?! Keep reading! I always find it so surprising that there are not more people in my size range (size 18/20/2X, 42DD) talking about Spanx. And I’m NOT talking about the shapewear! (Although they do have my favorite undershorts, if you happen to be needing something like that!) But, did you know that they actually make INCREDIBLE clothing for our size range?! They have made huge strides and continue to impress me with their offerings. We’re talking machine washable pieces that are gonna last you for years. And, SURPRISE, they're actually doing a SUMMER CLEARANCE SALE  which I feel like they never do! They make some of my most favorite staple items ever.

As a reminder, I am 5’8, wear a 42DD in bras, typically a standard 18W but sometimes a 20W, usually a 2X, naturally high-waisted, and have an apron belly.

I’ve found that SPANX typically runs true to size, but sometimes I take a size up. Pay attention to my sizing notes on each item, and don’t hesitate to drop a comment below if you have any questions!

First things first, THESE PANTS. WE NEED TO TALK. They’re called The Perfect Pant, Slim Straight, but funny enough…  these really are the perfect pants. If you need work pants, dress pants, these are incredible. You *PULL THEM ON* and they have tummy support!

There's a little bit of compression in the tummy area, which I really appreciate in terms of feeling supported. It's almost like they fit these on somebody with an apron belly! Honestly, they fit me so well and they feel so good, so good. 

Let’s talk about versatility and investments for a moment. The purpose of spending a decent amount of money to get a decent pair of pants is so that they will last you for a very long time, therefore you don't have to keep buying more and more. If you can get these amazing pants right now on super, super sale, take advantage of it because I swear it never happens.

The Perfect Asymmetrical Vest Top (3X) | The Perfect Pleated Back Top (2X) | The Perfect Pant, Slim Straight (2X)

The Perfect Pleated Back Top is also on sale, and it’s super versatile if you need something to go with a skirt or  a wide leg trouser! I don’t know about you, but I hate tucking those in!

I added The Perfect Asymmetrical Vest Top and I actually love this outfit head to toe! You could also wear this vest just as a top without anything underneath it or you could put a tank top underneath. This vest is the 2x, and I can't quite button it. If you're hippy at all, don't be afraid to size up in the vest. All of these pieces are so versatile.

Moving onto… drum roll… SHORTS! Are they not the hardest thing ever to find? Especially for us plus size babes?!  These Stretch Twill Shorts, 6inch, are some of my favorite shorts ever. I've had these in a blue gray color in the past, and I loved them. This time, I opted for the color Pine and I sized up to the 3x. I just wanted a little bit more room, and I'm really happy with that decision. I feel like they fit so nicely. Like, no digging into the apron belly. 

I threw on the AirEssentials One-Shoulder Top, which is also shockingly on clearance! As a reminder, I am a 42DD - as far as sizing goes for this, if you are chestier than me, then get your regular size. But if you are a little bit smaller in the chest than everywhere else, maybe size down because it's just a little loose on me in the chest in my regular size! If you've never tried AirEssentials, it is like butter. So, yes, I’m basically saying your chance to feel like you’re wearing butter is NOW! ;) Ha!

Actually ended up loving this as an outfit! What do you guys think?!

AirEssentials One-Shoulder Top (1X) | Stretch Twill Shorts, 6inch (3X)

Last but not least, I have to show you the other best shorts ever. I've had The Perfect A-Line Shorts for a few years. I actually just sized up to the 2x, which is my regular size, but previously I’d been wearing the 1X. They do run a little roomy in the thighs, but I’ve been wanting some more room! So if you have a slimmer thigh, consider sizing down. There's a little bit of compression here. They're so good. I love how they don’t ride up when I walk!

This Perfect Tie-Waist Top  makes me want to just be all business all the time. This is the cutest I have ever felt in shorts and a sleeveless top. Love the fact that this ties at the waist, too!  The details on this garment are beautiful and classic.

I'm higher waisted naturally, so it’s a little big in the chest and shoulders on me. If you're not, just get your regular size. I probably can do the size down to the 1x in this. If you're shaped similarly, I suggest sizing down.
