NYFW: PLUS SIZE CINDERELLA

DRESS | BELT | COAT | SHOES (dupe) | EARRINGS | NECKLACE | BAG

Saving the best for (almost) last… because this is my favorite. In the short history of House of Dorough, this is probably the most “me” look I’ve ever styled. When I was outfit planning for going to the CHROMAT fashion show (which was so diverse and so amazing, check my IG story highlights to see), I knew I wanted to wear this amazing coat by Tamara Malas. Often times, when picking a look, I start with one statement and then come up with the rest. The coat inspired me to go ALL blue, using texture and tone to differentiate. The edgy, unique parts of this coat drove me to go super femme with the rest of the look.

I found this baby blue “Cinderella” dress on ASOS and I fell in love with it as a layer! I added a baby blue belt for some subtle dimension, and I decked myself out in Kendra Scott’s Abalone shell jewelry.

I loved the way this whole look turned out and it will always hold a special place in my heart because it actually got featured in ManRepeller and InStyle during their street style roundups! HASHTAG BLESSED #amiright.

Threw on my classic black Vince booties because like you’ll always hear me say: you NEED a classic pair of black booties and you WILL wear them year round. These are years and years old but I’ve linked some comparable options worth trying.

SIZE DETAILS:

DRESS - I am wearing the 18 and it was a little big on me on top. This dress also comes in straight sizes in mink which I LOVE!

BELT - I am wearing the XL actually, which wouldn’t fit around my hips but is the perfect size for high waist.

COAT - This is the 14/16, I tried the 18/20 and it was too large so I would say if you’re in between to size down. This coat is from New York designer Tamara Malas and I am obsessed with her designs. Finally… there are cutting edge designers making COOL CLOTHES for plus sizes. I absolutely love her and her line!

I got to hang with my friend @city.peach so we snagged a couple of shots together too! Love her.
