Dear 2019 Body
Dear 2019 body,
Maybe I’ll fit into these clothes again this year, and maybe I won’t. Either way... I promise to love you just the same as I did a year ago when this photo was taken.
I promise not to spend the entire month of January stressed about starting a new diet or changing you in any way.
I promise not to compare my postpartum body to old photos.
When I see those old pictures, I promise to celebrate you then AND now.
👉🏼 I spent most of 2017 and 2018 digging deep into the world of self love, self care and body positivity. I worked really hard to get to a place of true self love, and so when I look at this picture I am proud. Not because of my body or what it looked like, but because of how hard I was working to take care of myself mentally, physically, and emotionally at that time.
👉🏼 My intentions in this New Year are not to focus on “bouncing back” after baby - ugh - a term I absolutely loathe. But instead, I want to get back to making my health and self-care a priority. Something that is so hard to do as a mom, but OH so important.
👉🏼 I hope and pray if you’re reading this you know... loving yourself and the way you look starts on the inside. You might think it does, but size really has nothing to do with how you feel when you look in the mirror.
