Ashley and Ab's Summer Wishlist
Summer is almost here, and one of our favorite pastimes here at House of Dorough these days has been making wishlists. Below, you’ll find some items that have caught our eye for the upcoming hot months.
Both of us have quite different individual styles, body types, and price ranges, so we thought it would be fun to share with you all the different items we’re each interested in.

Ashley
Here's my summer wishlist. Keep in mind that we spend a lot of time traveling and at the beach from May-September, so I made this list based on our current plans to travel although I know that may not happen. If that’s the case, I’ll be creating my own beach in my backyard… haha!
My summer uniform, no matter where we are consists of basically anything that doesn't make me feel hot.. ha! This Georgia heat is no joke and the easy and breezier the better!! Also, friendly reminder that this is a wishlist... so I may have included some serious splurges that I don't intend on purchasing.
Swimwear
Nothing gets me more excited for summer than a new swimsuit.
Hats
I have a large head and finding hats that fit me right is super hard. I bought a hat last year from asos that had the adjustable and I loved it... this one has that too so I am ordering it to try for Summer!
Oversized Beach Blankets
I use these in our backyard too on the lawn ... I love nothing more than to lay on the ground and look into the sky... It is truly grounding. At the beach, they work great on top of chairs or on the sand too.
Cute Dresses
because, fingers crossed I’ll have somewhere to wear them to!

I’m a sucker for oversized, round sunglasses, and I want every single one of these.
Beach Bags
I invested in a good beach bag from ASOS years ago, and it has held up well.
Shorts
Last year I finally took the plunge and started wearing shorts for the first time since I was a kid. I took the time to find some I liked and stuck with them. This year I am wanting to try more, so I've listed them here.
Bike Shorts
okay, seriously if it were up to me these bike shorts are all I'd wear till winter. Ha! No seriously. 1996 Ashley was all about them and I would love nothing more to bring them back into my wardrobe rotation. I ordered a few of these to try - wish me luck!
Bandanas
Especially in the summer when it's hot I love putting my hair up and tying a bandana around it. I just ordered these from Madewell and they're donating 50% of proceeds to No Hungry Kid, which I think is awesome. I will work on a tutorial for you guys once these arrive!
Spanx Power Panties
These are a must have for me when I wear flowy or clingy dresses - I personally like to feel a little "contained" if you will. They aren't going to re-shape your body and since that isn't my goal anyway, these are perfect.

For my fellow sweaty babes, I live for this stuff year round but especially during the summer. thigh rescue is life and will save your thighs from chafe!!
BeautyCounter - Use my name at checkout!
Lip Gloss - I love a simple lip gloss in the summer.
Tinted Sunscreen is great for using with your spray tan while at the beach. I haven’t tried this, but I’m definitely ordering it!
All Bright C Serum No matter how much sunscreen I'm lathering in, I still want to make sure I am keeping up with vitamin C on my face this summer. Can't wait to try this serum

I love breathable and flowy dresses that I can dress up or down, and this one is super cute and inexpensive.
Madewell Second Wave Straight One-Piece Swimsuit
Last year I realized that I loooooove both the way I look and the functionality of active one piece swimsuits! I’ve been eyeing this one and I might just have to pull the plug and buy it! (P.S. It’s available up to 3X)
A good bodysuit never goes out of style. I love the deep V in this one!
Out From Under Drew Seamless Ribbed Crop Tank Top
This tank comes in over 10 different colors and it’s a great simple piece for those hot summer months!
I love the rise of Levi’s Ribcage denim, and I am in desperate need of some black shorts!
White blouses are my go to item for summer when I want to dress up a little. I love how breezy this one looks.

Accessories
Warby Parker Durand Eyeglasses in Whiskey Tortoise
These are my favorite glasses and I broke them RIGHT before stay at home orders began. So these are for sure on my “must buy” list this summer. I’ve had them for years and I never fail to get compliments on them.
Skincare
Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser - I got a sample of this a few months ago and loved the way it made my skin feel. I’ve been throwing around the idea of buying some for myself ever since!
Biologique Recherche Lotion P50 - This mythologized chemical exfoliant has been at the top of my radar lately, and it’s been touted as a “miracle product” since the 70s. I think this summer might be the time I finally pull the plug and see what all the hype is about.
