Checking In // Community in the Time of Covid-19
I think it’s time for a check-in of sorts... how are you guys doing? What’s it like in your city? What types of media are you consuming? I have been trying to find an appropriate balance between still sharing style sessions and clothing for those of you who are able still shop right now, without it making those of you who can’t feel like you’re missing out on something... Just know that we’re all struggling right now, one way or another. And my goal is has never been to pressure you to buy anything... my only hope is that you’ll watch the things I create and enjoy it, get inspired, and be reminded that you’re worthy of cute outfits and dance parties no matter what you look like. I hope you know; everything I create comes from somewhere deep in my soul and I put a lot of thought into it. I am fortunate enough to have built this community of friends before covid19, and blessed enough to have a couple of jobs locked down for the year.
A lot of you still have your jobs as well, which is amazing.
But a lot of you don’t.
For a lot of you, getting laid off came out of nowhere.
Last week I decided that based off of your feedback, I would continue to share try ons and style sessions and fashion... because the fact of the matter is, as huge of a passion project as this is... it’s still my job. And I appreciate every single one of you who reach out to me for a link every time you shop - it means the world and also means I can continue to do this job. Because of your loyalty, I’m also in a place right now to help our friends who aren’t so fortunate.
So as I was posting a try-on last week for my people who are still shopping... it occurred to me that maybe, just maybe we could collectively help a couple of families out with grocery or bill money.
So on a whim, I asked you all. And all together we were able to draw 30 out of 100 names and sent them $40 each.
This week, I asked if there’d be any way that maybe we could send 50 people $40 each.
I was floored this morning when I did the math. Y’all stepped up in a major way and we were able to send not 30, but 55 people some support for groceries and bills.
