A LETTER TO MY HUSBAND ON FATHER'S DAY
Dear sweet husband of mine,
Some days, our daughter yells for "mommy" all day long. Some days, she won't let you hold her. And some days, she won't even kiss you (I blame it on your facial hair). But every day she is so smitten with you that I melt inside. You leave for work, and she calls your name. She goes looking for you when you're not home. She instantly gets excited if she hears anyone say the name Daddy. To her, there is only one Daddy. And that is you.
This is your 2nd Fathers day, and I've been thinking a lot about how awesome you are lately. You've really kind of blown my mind with this whole parenthood thing. Parenthood is tough. We definitely don't know what the H we are doing, but thats okay. She'll be fine ;)
We had a tough first year with unforeseen medical complications with our baby girl. You and I, we handled it like champs. I couldn't have done it without you by my side, keeping me strong. We have only been parents for 1.5 years, and already I see you growing into this amazing father to our daughter. I get so excited thinking about the future and how its only going to get better and better.
I love watching you with our daughter. You're patient, kind, and funny with her. I especially love watching you watching her. And the two of you together? Forget it. I literally melt on the inside. Daughters need their fathers, and I can't wait to see the impact you have on her life. I'm already seeing it every day more and more. I feel so blessed that as she gets older, she has such a strong father figure to be proud of. God has been so good to me, and you are living proof of that.
Parenting is hard. I'm so grateful to have a partner like you. Thank you for being you, and being the best father to our little girl.
Happy Father's Day! WE LOVE YOU.
