Anniversary Beach Vacation // Hotel Effie Sandestin
Wes and I recently had the opportunity to visit Hotel Effie Sandestin to celebrate our upcoming 9th wedding anniversary, and the experience was nothing short of magical!
Hotel Effie is a new luxury hotel in Mirimar Beach, FL with tons of amenities including an incredible onsite restaurant, an in-house coffee bar, four championship golf courses – which Wes absolutely loved, a luxury spa, and rooftop pool/lounge, and more!
My expectations for this vacation were exceeded from the moment we arrived, especially considering it has only been open for a year. Everyone we met there was really kind, and the staff was attentive throughout our stay. If you’re someone who likes to travel and pays attention to hospitality details, you are going to love this place.
OUR ROOM
Each room has a complimentary glass carafe you can refill with filtered water and nugget ice at the hydration stations on every floor. It’s a little touch, but it was so nice!
One of our favorite details of the room was the flatscreen TV that was mounted on a swivel so you can turn the TV to face the couch or around to face the bed.
The interior of our room was so sleek and modern, but had a cozy warmth to it as well. It was exactly what I am looking for when going out of town for a getaway. The bathroom was stunning and I have been thinking about it since we left. I mean, do you see that built-in storage and the shower? It’s beautiful in there.
DAY ONE
We started our day with breakfast at the hotel restaurant, Ovide. Can I just say… I was floored by the food. The biscuits and gravy were INCREDIBLE. Seriously.
Then we went back to our room for a quick nap, then off to ARA rooftop pool and bar where we relaxed!
That evening, we decided to check out the live music in the lobby which was SO GOOD. We took a quick four minute walk down to The Village of Baytowne Wharf. Funny enough, we stumbled upon a piano bar (Rum Runners) for dinner which was surprisingly SO delicious (and fun!!!)
DAY TWO
On our 2nd day, we enjoyed yummy coffee at Hotel Effie’s in-house market, Sweetbay Coffee. Then we ordered biscuits and gravy to go (yes, they’re that good I had them twice) and took them up to our pool cabana for the morning. We LOVED the cabana experience and truly felt so special. They included champagne and fruit, and we relaxed in a way we never really have before!
That afternoon golf at The Links – named one of the “Top Five Golf Courses in Northwest Florida” and Wes and I LOVED IT!
Dinner at Ovide was incredible, I cannot stress enough that you need to go there!
DAY THREE
The third and final day of our trip included the exclusive beach experience, visiting Spa Lilliana at the hotel, and one last meal at Ovide! On Sunday’s they do brunch and it was incredible.
The exclusive beach experience was awesome and we highly recommend it. The spa was incredible — we got a hot stone CBD couples massage and it was one of the best I’ve ever had!
