LOVE YOURSELF CHALLENGE: WEEK 13
I came to Barry's when I knew I needed a change - we decided to collaborate on my Love Yourself challenge. I only work with brands I love, so thank you for supporting House of Dorough.
Wow, it's been 13 WEEKS since I committed to being a better version of myself. Guys. I am in such a clearer mental state than I was when I started this. That alone is reason enough for me to continue with a healthier lifestyle.
Since I last updated (Week 5) - I had a few ups and downs, which included a little bit of a plateau. Which I think we all expected, but is always discouraging. I lost a ton of inches in the first 5 weeks, and now I'm kind of stuck here. Some of it has to do with the holidays and my knee. I have a stress fracture in my knee (NOT caused by Barry's. It was there all along, I just didn't know it until I started sprinting... yeah, super painful!!!)
Because of that, I have upped my game and have really gotten a lot stricter with my diet. I'm now trying to go to 4-5 Barry's classes a week if possible. I'm still sticking to the DOUBLE FLOOR because my knee has not completely healed yet.
Friendly reminder: I gained 75 pounds in 9 months. And kept on about 45 of that for two years. This isn't supposed to be easy.
I FEEL SO MUCH STRONGER.
I'm not out of breath anymore, I have more energy, and I'm just so inspired by myself and the others I see who have committed to bettering themselves.
I said this in the beginning, and I'll say it again. I embraced my mom bod a while ago, and I'm not trying to change what the Good Lord has blessed me with (#thickthighssavelives). I just want to be physically and mentally healthy.
One of the added benefits to that is weight loss and muscle toning, which is great! I have NO clue what my body is going to look like month to month, and it's okay to have days where you don't love every inch of you.
I have been taking transformation photos since Day 1 in November, and I plan on sharing them ALL with you on my final blog post in March! Stay tuned for that!
I am so excited to be hosting a class at Barry's this weekend with so many other inspiring women! Thanks for following along on my journey - I love sharing it with you all.
